Marbella
Ocean Club
What: Monthly Champagne Pool Parties.
When: The last Sunday of every month throughout summer.
Where: Ocean Club Marbella, Puerto Banús.
Feels Like: “It’s raining Veuve Cliquot”.
Perfect For: Being seen, indulgent champagne showers, sun worshippers and party animals.
The monthly Ocean Club Champagne Shower parties are excessive, indulgent and utterly glamorous. The key is in the name, with the international jet set flocking to this open air club for the most talked about parties of the season. Apart from the obvious champagne rain, the food and service are all fantastic!
The Ascari Club
What: Spain’s longest and most spectacular racing track.
When: All year!
Where: Marbella
Feels Like: Top Gear meets Top Gun.
Perfect For: Adrenaline junkies, satisfying your need for speed, budding F1 champions.
This state-of-the-art racing track is paradise for aspiring racing drivers and car aficionados. The club runs fantastic driving experience days with sports and racing cars (including an F1 car), and is an ideal venue to stage an exclusive event.
Starlite Festival
What: A Month-Long Culture and Music Festival.
When: 23 July – 23 August 2014.
Where: La Cantera Auditorium, set in an ancient quarry just outside of the town centre.
Feels Like: A cultural extravaganza beneath the stars.
Perfect For: Foodies, revellers, lovers of classic tunes.
Now in its third year, the Starlite festival in Marbella will set the stage for artists including Welsh superstar Tom Jones, and world famous bands Kool and the Gang, The Pet Shop Boys and many more. The festival is a unique blend of music, fashion, film and art events, all in an almost mythical ocation set in an ancient quarry beneath the stars with fantastic restaurants and a wonderful open air nightclub.
Valencia
La Tomatina
What: The World’s Biggest Organised Food Fight.
When: The last Wednesday of August each year.
Where: Buñol (38km from Valencia).
Feels Like: Swimming in a tin of Campbell’s Tomato Soup with a pinch of Spanish charisma.
Perfect For: Tomato lovers! Those not afraid to get a little messy.
This world-famous food fight brings together 20,000 visitors from around the world for an hour long tomato fight in the picturesque streets of Buñol. The tomatoes are driven in by the truckload, and the fight begins when the first person succeeds in ascending a “soapy pole” to claim the Spanish ham at the top! Madness not to be missed!
The weeklong festival also features live music, fireworks and a paella cooking competition!
Valencia Restaurant Week: “Cuina Oberta”
What: A week of gastronomy!
When: 1 week in June and 1 week in October TBC.
Where: The top restaurants throughout the city of Valencia.
Feels Like: Haute gastronomy without the price tag.
Perfect For: Foodies, couples, impressing your mates.
For one week in June and October each year, Valencia’s most prestigious, often Michelin starred restaurants, offer an extremely affordable tasting menu. The week aims to promote the world-class quality of Valencian cuisine and is a great opportunity to sample some excellent gastronomy at a bargain!
Seagram’s Gin Jazz Festival
What: The Valencia jazz festival.

Where: Valencia’s Palau de la Música.

Amante Beach Club Midnight Movie Nights
What: A beachside outdoor cinema with cocktails.
When: Mondays throughout summer.
Where: Amante Beach Club.
Feels Like: A cinema under the stars.
Perfect For: Film buffs, a romantic evening a deux.
Set on a cliff overlooking the crystal waters of Sol d’en Serra bay, Amante beach club will be showing a variety of films in English (with Spanish subtitles) on selected summer evenings. With comfy beanbags and a delectable cocktail selection, the setting under the stars couldn’t be more perfect.

Perfect For: The colourful who’s who of the island, those looking to discover the real Ibiza, delicious dining.
As recommended by DMC World Editor Dan Prince and White Ibiza’s elusive Miss W, the island’s Clandestining Supper Club soirees are fast becoming notorious for their incredible food, magical ambience and hidden locations. Founded by three foodies, the first event was inspired by an ancient photograph of a raucous dinner party set in a field. We can stay no more but stay tuned for the CSC’s 2014 programme of unique events. Whatever you do, don’t be late and tell no-one!
Love Brunch in Ibiza
What: An afternoon party.

For the second year in a row, Love Brunch return to Destino to stage one of their infamous Saturday afternoon parties. Usually housed on Kensington Roof Gardens in London, and running from midday to 6pm, the event brings together a lazy weekend brunch (everyone’s favourite indulgence) with incredible live acts, music and a fantastic atmosphere for the perfect sunny Saturday afternoon.
Mallorca
Copa del Rey
What: Popular International Yachting Regatta.
When: First week in August TBC.
Where: Real Club Náutico de Palma, Palma de Mallorca.
Feels Like: The America’s Cup meets Mallorquine.
Perfect For: Sailors and yachties, the jet set.
Each year since 1982, the prestigious “Real Club Náutico de Palma” (royal yacht club) has hosted the Copa del Rey regatta, a hugely anticipated event on the international yachting calendar in which some of the greatest teams in the world compete (including many from The America’s Cup). In the 1990s, the Spanish King Juan Carlos I won the trophy twice, and still regularly attends as a spectator.
Mallorca Rocks
What: Electro and Rock Music Festival.
When: Every Thursday from June to September 2014.
Where: Mallorca Rocks Hotel, Magaluf.
Feels Like: Ibiza Rock’s younger, more innocent sister.
Perfect For: Balancing the dancefloor and the spa, world class performers.
The little sister festival of world famous Ibiza Rocks, this summer long festival presents live acts every Thursday at the Mallorca Rocks Hotel in Magaluf. What: The annual orange festival.
