Cala Pedrosa
“This tiny restaurant is one of those sheltered little hideaways that makes one think of pirates and smugglers. You can reach it from via boat or by the coastal path. It is a lovely walk down but a bit more of a challenge on the way up! They are open only in the summer months, but the cove is great for a picnic all year round. The food is very basic – omelettes, sardines, ‘tostadas’, cherries – that kind of thing… ideal of for a hearty breakfast.”

Walk from La Fosca to Platja Castell
“Take the 15 minute walk along the coastal path from La Fosca to Platja Castell, stop off for a dip in by the quaint fishing huts on S’Alguer. In the winter this is a great place for a weekend picnic.”

Cap Roig Music Festival
“Don’t miss the Cap Roig music festival. Book at table at the on-site restaurant for dinner before the show starts.”

Castell de Peralada
“The perfect place for wine lovers. Take a tour around one of the most emblematic vineyards in Empordà, visit the ageing cellar with 5.500 barrels, learn about the history of wine in the museum, taste the exquisite wines of the area and relax at the wine spa… And if you also like sailing, combine both passions by enjoying a wine tasting on a sailboat. Don’t miss this comprehensive wine experience.”

“For the perfect way to explore the magnificent natural environment of the stunning Baix Empordà region, hire a Burricleta bicycle. The Burricleta is a pedal-assisted bicycle with a small electric motor, enabling you to discover the area without getting too tired in hot summer weather!”
