“Let’s Do Brunch” Part 2: Our top recommendations in the Balearics, Valencia and Marbella
Ibiza
Restaurante Passion
Overlooking the magnificent superyachts bobbing in Marina Botafoch and over to Dalt Vila, Restaurante Passion is a member of the hugely successful Passion family founded by Lana Love. In this “shabby chic” inspired restaurant, the emphasis is on organic health food and locally sourced produce. Think gorgeous wooden furniture and a range of calming pastel hues, perfect for escaping the madness and hedonism of the white isle’s busiest season.
Try the… The refreshing Energy Booster smoothie (made with acai, guarana, banana, blueberry and apple). For more substantial fare, try the Green Eggs (scrambled eggs topped with parmesan and pesto, and no ham). Got a sweet tooth to satisfy? Make a beeline for the sparkling cake fridge, where veggies are foregone in favour of mountainous carrot cake and daily baked goodies!

Love Brunch Party
On the August bank holiday weekend, this slick London-based operation is rolling into Ibiza with a bang of confetti canons. The event, at Pacha’s Destino, begins with a high-end brunch and evolves into an electric party by the pool. Not one for the faint hearted, brunch is most definitely overshadowed by the incredible atmosphere, music and beautiful people swaying in the sea breeze (Sienna Miller, Prince Harry and Cara Delevigne are big fans). Check out last year’s event for a taste of what looks to be their biggest party yet.

Bagel
Brainchild of Andrew and Stephan, originally from Cape Town, this fantastic Bagel bakery and café is the only one of its kind on the island. Their perfect traditional bagels are poached before being baked on the premises and the menu is almost entirely vegan, even serving gluten free chocolate cake! The space is compact but trendy and they stock English, International and Spanish newspapers. Free WiFi is also definitely a bonus in the heart of the old town. Bag one of the tables in the lane outside to watch the world go by, or take yours to-go and stride through Palma like a busy New Yorker.
Try the… New York Style Bagel (smoked salmon, salty capers and cream cheese on a toasted sesame bagel). They also know how to grind their beans, serving frothy Illy Cappucinos to perfection.

Dulce de Leche Boutique
This charming bohemian café comes out on top every time, with their bright, sunny interior and lovely terrace, perfect for watching the world go by. Set in the old town on pretty Calle Jesus, Dulce de Leche is hailed as one of the best pastelerias in the city.
Try the… Daily Brunch Special for just €5! From salty bagels to buttery pastries, enjoy the element of surprise for fantastic value. Or if in doubt, go for a slice of yummy quiche.

Marbella
Pan y Mermelada
This welcoming Canadian owned bakery, though not strictly for brunching, is a firm favourite with locals from across the globe with some of the friendliest service in Marbella. Pan y Mermelada provides a fantastic buzzy atmosphere for families, having a natter with friends, or relaxed business brunches, as well as solo diners just looking to unwind with a newspaper. Great value and local, organic produce are a bonus!
Try the… Canadian style buttermilk pancakes with sticky maple syrup and sizzling bacon (if you’re feeling hard-core)! For the gym-going folks, their home baked granola is crunchy and delicious! If your brunch really does run into over-time, they do fantastic afternoon tea with tempting cakey things, and juicy burgers.
