Casa Burés: A Modernista Masterpiece in the Heart of the Eixample
During the Barcelona Big Bang back in September, our drivers were given a unique view of the city on a whistle-stop tour of the Old Town’s most emblematic streets by Trixi bike taxis. The Old Town tour was followed by a light lunch in Casa Burés in the Eixample district, one of Barcelona’s most spectacular Modernista buildings.
Casa Burés is set to become the most sought-after luxury residential development in Barcelona and is being exclusively promoted by Lucas Fox. Located in one of the most desirable areas of Eixample Right (Barcelona’s most centrally located residential district) and within walking distance of Plaza Cataluña and the Old Town, this impressive project of luxurious contemporary properties housed within a spectacular Modernista building is truly unique.
Located at the junction of C/Ausiàs March and C/Girona, the façade is just as impressive today as it was when it was constructed at the start of the 20th century. However, it is inside where Casa Burés’ greatest treasures can be found.
The Barcelona Big Bang’s Swedish guests approached the building following their tour of the neighbouring historic centre by Trixi.
The first order of the day was to guess which vintage automobile was concealed in the building’s grand lobby.
It was Lelle Wilderburg of Wileco Events who correctly identified the vintage Aston Martin, taking home the grand prize: a bottle of Bollinger champagne!

The group proceeded up the dramatic sweeping staircase, to discover the upper levels of this majestic structure.
The building’s stunning Modernista entrance with detailed stone, ironwork, stained glass windows and sumptuous staircase, has been beautifully preserved.
Guests ascended to the building’s expansive rooftop terrace, drinking in breathtaking views of the Eixample’s impressive wide boulevards and beyond.

Some of the building’s impressive aesthetic highlights include this stunning wrought-iron stairwell, as well as original window-frames dating back to Casa Burés’ conception in the 1900s.
Guests wandered through Casa Burés’ magnificent original interior, admiring the high ceilings and unique features.
The ambitious project will see 26 unique properties housed in these majestic walls, including 3 duplex lofts with a private pool (from 335-425m²), 16 apartments with a variety of dimensions (from 20–170m²), 5 penthouse apartments (from 160-275m²), as well as two palatial apartments (from 450-485m²) located on this floor.

The renovation process will re-interpret the building’s Modernista origins and adapt them to match different lifestyles in the form of 26 exclusive properties. Offering Creative, Traditional, Classic and Contemporary aesthetic themes, Casa Burés will offer homeowners the option to match their lifestyle and outlook with their surroundings.
